Individual rib descriptions:
The Egg
Shaped like its namesake, The Egg Rib is a flat yet thick rib with a smooth edge all around. It’s the perfect throwing aid for achieving that flowing profile that would otherwise take an age to perfect.
Designed to press against the outside of the pot in progress, using any rotation of the 'egg' to find the right curve profile, it helps form the exact curve needed to achieve that perfect form. Whether shaping curves or refining contours, this rib ensures easy appplication and ultimate satisfaction.
The Mug
Designed for precision in mug production, this rib is ideal for shaping cylindrical pots on the wheel. After throwing a simple cylinder, press the rib’s profile against the edge and push the clay onto it from the inside as the wheel rotates.
Two alternative edge profiles of the rib features two distinct mug shapes: one classical and the other - a more handcrafted studio created shape. This dual-design approach ensures that each mug is consistently shaped while allowing for a range of styles, blending handcrafted quality with production efficiency.

The Pott'r Throwers' Rib designed by seasoned potter, Darren Phillips with potters in mind offering an efficient way to trim off excess clay at the base (commonly known as the skirt) making the piece tidy and presentable in readiness for the turning process.
Uniquely crafted because no other tool does this job so well, it features an almost vertical edge for trimming and a pointed edge to create a bevelled groove perfect for cutting the pot off the wheel.
